Meet the Blueberry Spanworm
Blueberry Spanworm (Itame argillacearia) larvae feed on blueberry leaf and flower buds, blossoms, and vegetative shoots. A fully grown BSW larvae is about 20mm long and is yellowish orange with rows of black spots. Larvae may bore holes into the side of a bud and hollow it out. In severe outbreaks, extensively damaged areas may appear burned, with only the twigs and stems of the plants remaining.
